I'm sure Don Brash will pay it for them

According to a press release on Scoop, the Chief Electoral Officer has upheld the Greens' complaint against the Exclusive Brethren's "Beware" pamphlet, and has forwarded the matter to the police:

I have concluded that the leaflet does appear to promote the party vote for National. I have decided to refer the matter to police for investigation as to whether an person has breached section 221 of the Electoral Act 1993, and if so, whether any prosecution in terms of section 221(4) is appropriate

(Link added).

If successfully prosecuted, the Brethren face a $3000 fine. Which I don't think will act as much of a deterrant to people who gladly blew half a million in an effort to influence the election.

What about Labour's pledge card suffering the same fate...or did we leave that on purpose.

Whaleoil: I think its embarassing for Labour and I look forward to their prosecution. As for the omission being "on purpose", people's expectations of prescience (or alternatively, inability to read a timestamp) never cease to amaze me. While I make some effort, I do not know everything, and I certainly don't know things before they're reported somewhere I can read or hear them. But hey, why let that get in the way of a cheap shot?

Added to which, the Exclusive Brethren concealed their identity beforehand. And don't forget, The
Donald did thank them on Election Night...
