No public interest

Did someone at the Herald lose a lot of money? Because that's the only reason I can think of for today's piece on Blue Chip co-founder Mark Bryers' sex-life (no, I'm not linking to it). There's no public interest that I can see to justify invading his privacy in this way; Bryers isn't a "celebrity" who sells details of his private life to the women's magazines, and there's no suggestion that company funds were used. Instead, the reason for this vicious, petty hit-piece seems to be that, well, he ran a company which fell over, and so people hate him.

This isn't journalism - it's using the media as a vehicle for private vendetta. And the Herald deserves our utter contempt for it.
