Vetoing for torture

Last month, in a welcome return to sanity and decency, the US Congress passed a bill limiting the CIA to using interrogation methods listed in the Army Field Manual - effectively banning waterboarding.

Today, Bush vetoed it.

The message is clear: torture is not an abberation, it is US policy, supported at the highest levels of the US government. And it will not end until Bush/Cheney are driven from office.

Fortunately, that's only 317 days away.
