Protest against Israel's bombing of Gaza

Want to make your voice heard on Gaza? If you're quick and in Wellington, there's a protest today outside MFAT (cnr Lambton Quay and Panama St) starting at 12:30. Otherwise, there's a protest in Aotea Square in Auckland this Saturday, starting at noon.

Meanwhile, Murry McCully is still refusing to condemn Israel's invasion, repeating his line that it is "pointless" to argue about "who's provoking who and what is a proportionate versus disproportionate response" - when the proportionality of Israel's actions in devastating a city in response to a few pinpricks is the key issue. Doesn't it make you proud to be a kiwi, to have such a toadying moral midget representing us on the world stage?

Still, at least he isn't arguing that Israel needs to bomb civilians and murder children to restore its self-confidence and public image after its 2006 loss in Lebanon. That really is monstrous.
