Brazil elects its first female President

Brazil went to the polls over the weekend in the second round of Presidential elections - and elected its first woman leader: Dilma Rousseff, a former Marxist rebel, political prisoner, and torture victim. She's made it clear that she intends to continue the successful policies of her predecessor, Lula, which have raised millions out of poverty - and with a solid majority in both houses of the National Congress, she'll be able to do it.
