I bet they won't get kettled

The British government is currently on a mad austerity binge, cutting everything in an effort to balance its books (and instead deepening the recession). They've finally turned their eyes on the police, and are proposing significant pay cuts - up to 25% of pay for some officers. In response, the police are planning a protest march.

There's a beautiful irony in this. In the UK, protests against cuts are normally met with kettling, beatings, and arrests. Obviously, that's not going to happen here - the police are hardly going to kettle, beat, and arrest themselves. And so the government will have to listen for once.
